''Red is the first color of spring. It’s the real color of rebirth, of beginning.'' - Andie Condie
There’s something special about the color red. It’s daring, vibrant, and so very alive. It’s my go to color to lift me up when life gets me down. Red is the color of passion, love, fire, desire and heat. It’s the color of the root chakra, representing safety and security. It’s a color that always lifts my spirits.
Like most women, Anthropologie has been a favorite of mine for many years, and probably decades. As a former interior designer, it’s been my go to for distinctive home decor. I imagine, if you are at all like me, you’ve discovered Anthro’s wide variety of styles, from day to evening. This red linen dress always brings a lot of compliments. Sometimes, the simplest designs are the best. The cut is super flattering and the shade of red is a classic. Rachel Zoe is another designer, who in my mind, is absolutely flawless. Her gowns hug a woman’s body, giving her a shape and curves, that are so flattering, instantly making you feel beautiful. From Anthropologie to Rachel Zoe, there’s a look and the perfect shade of red for every woman.
Most women look fabulous in the color red, which seems to immediately exude an air of confidence. Like many of you, I found it a bit intimidating to try on a romper, particularly in my mid fifties. Once the initial hurdle was over, having tried on several styles, I quickly became a convert. This latest style from Banana Republic is a bit more conservative than many of the rompers out there and is perfect for women of all ages. Adding a belt cinches the waist and creates a beautiful look.
I love hearing from you. What are your greatest style challenges? How do you feel about the romper trend and what’s your favorite way to style this look? I say break out the red lipstick and your favorite shade of red. And, remember #CGOStyle is all about rocking your inner beauty because every woman is beautiful in my eyes. Find your own unique style. And, always remember, true beauty is on the inside.
