What is #CGOStyle? First and foremost, it’s about throwing the fashion rule book out the window! To me, fashion is meant to be fun without any rules or social mores. Fashion is creative self expression at it’s finest. The core of #CGOStyle is being comfortable in your own skin and rocking your inner beauty and confidence. It’s about a blend of high end brands with more affordable brands. It’s about finding your own unique style and flair. In my personal styling business, I often refer to helping clients to put on their “infit” before they put on their outfit. I love guiding women to adopt a beautiful mindset as there’s nothing more beautiful to me than a woman who believes in herself and truly loves herself.
How would I best describe #CGOStyle? Bohochic meets Vogue Vixen. Most women have a variety of looks. Mine tends to range from makeup free on the beach to decked out to the nines in a gorgeous gown, high heels and red lipstick. Like so many of you, I have to be very mindful of how much I spend when it comes to fashion. As I hear from many of you, stretching your budget is very important. I encourage women to comb flea markets, vintage stores and consignment shops as it’s so easy to find one of a kind or designer styles at fabulous prices. A cornerstone of my style is in using the majority of your clothing budget on the classics, while skimping on the trends. I’m assuming that most of you find that trends go in and out of style very quickly. Spending more on the classics allows you to have those special items forever as the basis of your wardrobe. Investing in special pieces, such as a designer handbag or an expensive leather jacket, allows you to design an overall look around the classics while filling in with the trendier items like fringe or high waisted jeans with a bell bottom.
To me, the best part is the unexpected and not worrying about the designer label.
It’s wise to make the basis of your wardrobe what I refer to as “Classic Chic.” I always have the perfect navy and black blazer, skinny black and white jeans, a pair or two of distressed denim, little black booties, a pair of over the knee boots, several darling clutches and the perfect little black dress. Throwing in a couple of classic handbags with some strappy sandals and a pair of pumps will round out the wardrobe perfectly. No doubt, that you have some of these classic pieces in your wardrobe and it’s so simple to create the perfect look. I like to fill in my wardrobe with awesome values from the more affordable retailers like H and M, Zara, and Target. It’s so easy to find the latest trends at fabulous prices, often rivaling those of the higher end designers. I find that when you’re confident in your style, your style exudes confidence. That’s #CGOStyle.
