I recently discovered the brand Chicwish, as their designs caught my eye on quite a few bloggers in the Instagram world. With styles that range from the cutest cotton blouses with charming bows in the back or colorful dresses in distinctive patterns, I definitely wanted to give it a try. I was delighted when Chicwish reached out and offered to let me select a couple of items from their website and off I decided to let my fingers do the walking through their online boutique!
My first choice was a beautiful white lace dress that felt inspired by one of my favorite designers, Self Portrait. This one is a very affordable version with fabulous lace and pastel colors throughout. It comes with a cami slip underneath as it’s a bit see through without the slip. I absolutely loved the dress but the sizing seems dependent on the item you select. I’m usually a zero or an extra small yet everything that I’ve ordered from China, where Chicwish is based, has tended to run small. I decided to order up a size and received a size small. It definitely ran on the larger size and made an additional belt the ideal accessory to cinch in the waist. I paired it with cream colored pumps by Jill Stuart that have been in my wardrobe for ages. The cream colored clutch is by VIPme and is a staple in my collection. I’m a hat lover and it was an unusually chilly windy day, so I was glad I brought along a beautiful grey straw hat from Nordstrom. It was the perfect accompaniment.
The dress received a lot of attention and compliments from shoppers at The Point in El Segundo, a favorite hangout in the South Bay. With everything from the healthiest fare at True Food to delicious Italian Fare at North Italia, your taste buds will thank you. Stop by Smitten Ice Cream for a homemade waffle cone to end your night on a high note or Sugarfina for a sweet treat.
It was time for a quick change into dress number two. I decided to go with something completely different from the first choice. I had seen this red dress on another blogger and absolutely fell in love. I selected another small as I wasn’t sure how it would fit. The dress is cut on the larger side and I would have ordered an extra small in hindsight. I loved the way the sleeves were cut. It was super flattering. I paired it with a lace moto jacket from Nordstrom by The Kooples. I loved the lace take on the traditional leather moto jacket. I threw on a pair of black strappy pumps found on the sale rack at Banana Republic. My final accessory was a simple black clutch by Milly. I love the color red as it always picks up my spirits and this was no exception. Chicwish offers a 30% discount on your first purchase and I found most items very affordable. There’s always a bit of a trade off on quality versus price. I tend to favor brands like Chicwish for the trendier items each season and they have one of the best selections around.
Thank you Chicwish. It’s been delightful. I would absolutely check out their website at Chicwish.com and make use of their coupon code. You’ll be stepping out in style in no time!
