I am thrilled to share my fall campaign with you: Bridging the Gap. We have done an amazing job in our culture by letting go of many of the labels that separate and divide us. The one label that has been reluctant to shift is related to aging and demographics. Times have changed dramatically and with it so have life expectancies along with lifestyles. Since our society has embraced yoga, meditation, energy medicine, advanced nutrition and the latest scientific technology, men and women are finding themselves feeling far younger and more vibrant than ever before.
This October 17th, 200 Influencers are coming together to “Bridge the Gap” with one another. 100 Midlife Influencers and 100 Millennial Influencers are uniting as one to send a powerful message while blurring boundaries amongst the demographics. The truth is that we are much stronger together. We are taking a stand as a community. On the above date, 200 blog posts will go live connecting women across multiple demographics with a mission to let go of perceptions around aging. Women are a continuum. It is brands and advertising that attempts to define us by our age. It’s time to prove to them the error of their ways. This is a wake-up call to those brands that insist on separating us into unrelated groups with an isolated marketing strategy. Inside of every Millennial is a woman that will enter midlife, and every Midlifer remembers the younger woman that was.
We are going to prove to you that women of all ages walk hand in hand, side by side!
When it comes to midlife and beyond, our reality shifted long ago. We are no longer our Mother’s or our Grandmother’s generations. We are finding ways to slow the clock down and to defy aging on many levels. So, how do we shift perception in an organic way? We shift perception by allowing judgments to naturally fall away. Haven’t you ever had the experience where you judged someone without knowing them? You may have found that, once you actually knew that person, that your judgments naturally shifted on their own. That’s the mission and vision of Bridging the Gap. The mission is to allow any preconceived notions or judgments to naturally fall away once you begin to truly know someone through their life stories.
The women (Oh…and a few brave men!) will bond through their stories and share a blog post on their partner. The campaign encourages “Reciprocal Mentorship” as the Millennials have come into this world in a very different time and space. We need their youthful energy and unique insights, while we Midlifers can share our collective wisdom and experience gained through life lessons with both triumphs and adversity. Both groups have much to learn and much to offer. We intend to send a powerful message to brands and advertisers that marketing to multiple demographics is a far more comprehensive, dynamic, and successful strategy that only helps both the brands and their customers.
