Meditating on a Billboard!

Eureka, California

“The man who views the world at fifty the same as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life.” – Muhammad Ali

I’m just going to put it out there. LA feels weird. Life feels weird.

I’ve been uncomfortable.

Out of sorts.

Why is it that getting out of our environment and our daily routines, especially during COVID and quarantine, tends to lift our spirits and fill us with inspiration?

Not long ago, I loved living in LA. I was hoping it was my forever home. I really thought it would be. Moving to the City of Angels, not to mention a block from the beach, felt like nirvana.

Today, it feels different.

Everything feels different.

My recent escape up the breathtaking coast of Oregon and Washington provided just the shift in perspective I needed.

Before leaving, I began to feel as if I had the weight of the world on my shoulders. No matter what I did, I couldn’t seem to shake the feeling for long.

As if by magic, that weight was lifted simply by spending time in nature – escaping from LA to immerse myself in the beauty of Mother Nature.

Without an ounce of doing, suddenly I found myself in a new space of being.

What I also discovered was an entirely new mindset … along with a real desire to move to the Pacific Northwest!

Shocking, right?!?

If you had suggested that to me a while back, I would have said “You can’t make me, you can’t make me, you can’t make me!!!”

Which brings me to today’s post and an exciting, new theme on the blog – “Think Outside the MOX.” It also inspired yours truly to hop up onto a colossal billboard just off the 101 and strike a pose. Yep, that’s really CGO on a billboard!

Doesn’t every Modern Midlife woman do that?

Of course not. And that’s exactly the point!

When we begin to “Think Outside the MOX,” we allow our imaginations to roam free and our attitudes, mindsets and possibilities to expand. We begin to understand that there isn’t anything we can’t do.

When Moxie meets Mindset, anything is possible.

Did I get some weird looks from people driving by?

Yup, I did.

Rubberneckers?

You betcha!

Did I care?

Not a hoot!

It was one of those moments where it just felt right. After all, I was clearly practicing safe social distancing (hehe). I can tell you from my experience, the risk of COVID goes down considerably in the middle of nowhere on top of a giant billboard!

Truth be told. It was fun. Clearly, my inner child was firmly in charge, having a ball.

Heck, my friend, Michel Pascal, meditates smack dab in the middle of Times Square. I’m sensing he might be proud of me for getting creative with my meditation practice.

Cheers Beauties. I believe it’s time for us to “Think Outside the MOX.” It’s time to blow the doors off what it means to be a Modern Midlife woman. It’s time to show the world who’s boss. It isn’t just blondes who have more fun. It’s Modern Midlife women who have the most fun – if only they join me and “Think Outside the Mox.”

Are you with me?

I know Moxie is and we know how much fun she is!!!

PS – We are also partnering with Michel Pascal for his first in-person meditation experience in LA in 2020. It will take place at Dockweiler Beach with all appropriate social distancing and mask requirements. Please email me if you would like to participate.
