What's On Your Back?

“All of us need to be in touch with a mysterious, tantalizing source of inspiration that teases our sense of wonder and goads us on to life’s next adventure.” – Rob Brezny, Pronoia

Hey Baby, what’s your sign?

Not your Sun sign! I mean the one that speaks to the Universe.

The one on your back.

“Kick Me” or “Love Me” …

The answer is always one of Faith.

Is there really someone or something on our side, a mysterious power we can’t see?

Or, could this simply be a rigged game designed to test us and to disappoint?

Can it truly be that the Universe is always conspiring on our behalf?

Or, better yet, could it be that we are actually gifted with the ability to affect the Universe in support of our dreams and visions?!

Decades ago, when I was fully immersed in the world of “New Thought,” I came across a little known book called, “Pronoia is the Antidote for Paranoia: How The Whole World Is Conspiring to Shower You With Blessings.” It was a book that challenged the way I saw the world. Or, more truthfully, it challenged the way I experienced the world.

At the time, I believed that I was born with a “Kick Me” sticker on my back (yes, a close friend even told me that!) rather than a “Love Me” sticker which is the essence of PRONOIA.

The past couple of weeks on Clubhouse, we’ve been immersed in juicy discussions about our thoughts and our beliefs. We’ve been sharing ways to change them, to reframe them, to shift the negative into a positive.

Did you know that humans are wired to see the negative?

It’s like we’re built with an inner slippery slope straight into the muck of life.

It’s known as the Cognitive Bias.

Let’s just say our innate Cognitive Bias tends to favor the Kick Me sticker over the Love Me sticker.

Simply said: Kick Me Sticker equals Paranoia. Love Me Sticker equals Pronoia.

Pronoia is using our innate Free Will, our Free Choice and our thoughts, to believe that the Universe is conspiring For Us and Not against us.

Free Will gives us the ability to choose in every moment – Paranoia or Pronoia.

Paranoia is a sucky place to live. I know. I’ve been there. It’s dark. It’s freaking heavy. It’s devoid of light and positivity.

It’s also a choice – a choice to believe that life is against us.

Good luck trying to change your life with that limiting belief system!

Pronoia is the polar opposite.

Pronoia is a belief that absolutely EVERYTHING happens for us. It’s a belief that the Universe – God, Source, Buddha, humans, situations and circumstances, are always conspiring for us, toward our highest good.

I’m assuming by now, you’re realizing that a life focused on Pronoia is a lot more joyful and fulfilling than a life of Paranoia.

Are you ready to learn a shortcut to go from Paranoia to Pronoia, from a negative to a positive, in an instant? It’s also a way to begin your day firing up those neural pathways, your inner wiring, to search for ways the Universe is on your side.

Try asking yourself throughout your day, “How can it get any better than this?”

It’s an instant reset, a reboot, a way to short circuit that neural wiring that loves nothing more than to hook onto the negative.

That one question assumes gratitude for the present moment. It also opens your mind, your heart and the Universe to find ways to conspire on your behalf to make things even better.

It’s like a giant LOVE ME sticker plopped on your back.

Your choice.

Pronoia or Paranoia.

Cheers Beauties, a life with Pronoia at the center, believing the Universe is on your side is a much lighter, brighter way to live.

Guess which one I’m choosing?!
