Mr Self Portrait

Rarely, does a brand come along with such an incredible array of gorgeous designs. I’m a bit of a kid in a candy store when it comes to beautiful design and Mr Self Portrait always delivers. His dresses are world renowned for their incredible intricacy in the details. Using the finest lace and weaving the designs to perfection, each dress is so unique and varied in it’s styling.

When you slip into one of his designs, it instantly changes your energy and will transform the way that you feel. The designs are beautifully feminine and cut to flatter the female body. Each dress combines different patterns, fabrics and designs, pleasing the eye and always garnering a fair amount of attention. As a fashion blogger in my mid-fifties, I find this brand to be absolute perfection for women in what I like to call Act II. The price point is a big higher yet still affordable, particularly given the intricacies of the design. I love wearing all black with a vibrant pop of color. Adding in the yellow suede sandals found for a steal on sale at Revolve Clothing, changes up the look and adds a bit of the unexpected.

You can’t go wrong combining a classic pair of over the knee boots with his designs. This pair from Delman Shoes is a staple in my wardrobe. I absolutely love this trend which seems to have turned into a classic, at least for me. This mini dress would also be fabulous with a pair of beautiful pumps for evening or strappy sandals for day. The longer black lace version was an exclusive design by Self Portrait for the online luxury retailer, Net a Porter. I tend to favor their sister site, the Outnet, which is my go to when I’m looking for Mr Self Portrait on sale. Another favorite treasure for discounted Self Portrait designs is Intermix. With boutiques in cities such as Los Angeles and Chicago, and a strong online presence, I find a lot of my Self Portrait steals on their sale rack.

A modern yet edgy look, the designs combine a love of streetstyle with a touch of glamour. With an exquisite range of dresses in his collection, it will be hard to choose just one to add to your wardrobe. I usually wear a size zero. This brand tends to run a bit smaller, so I always order a size four and the fit is truly divine.

Somehow, once you try one on, I sense you will find his designs to be subtly sexy, and always alluring. No doubt, that once you have, you will feel as beautiful as I do and become a fan for life.
