I’ve been a Boho beach girl since day one. It’s in my bones. The beach, the ocean, the outdoors…always soothe my soul. It’s hard to pull this fashion blogger away from the pure beauty that surrounds us every day from Mother Nature. I’ve been a collector of crystals and natural gemstones for decades. There’s immense healing power in nature and I love tapping into it. I had been admiring the gorgeous designs by @MarissaTDesigns on Instagram for quite awhile and I decided to reach out to her only to find that she was reaching out to me!  We instantly connected and had so much in common.  It’s my honor to introduce her to all of you! Marissa is a kindred spirit in many ways. She’s a nature lover, a boho beach girl, an animal lover with a passion for creativity that’s out of this world. The colors, the styling, the stunning backdrops beautifully set the stage to show off her amazing designs. It’s one of my favorite galleries for creative inspiration.

Marissa is a beautiful soul with an incredible gift. She loves to create handmade jewelry designs that are unique and that appeal to women of all ages. Whether you’re a beach lover, a natural indie goddess, a free spirit, a mother, or a fashionista… Marissa will create the perfect look to match your style. I love the comment on her blog, MarissaTDesigns.blogspot.com, where she states “Marissa wants her jewelry to make you feel special & as beautiful as you are on the INSIDE as you are on the outside.” She’s a sister that she speaks my language as I’m all about the inner world and seeing the beauty that’s inside each and every one of us. I live by the motto that “Fashion is my medium, it’s not my message.” Marissa always provides a dose of beautiful inspiration on every post she creates. To me, true beauty can only be found within while the outward expression of inner beauty can be found in spades on the pages of Marissa T. Designs. You have to love an artist who designs custom pieces specifically with each individual in mind. I was a lucky recipient of a custom design piece and had an absolute blast creating the photo images. Marissa is also a photographer and an upcoming lifestyle blogger and I’m so impressed that all the photography and styling in her gorgeous gallery are of her own creation.

I love designing settings to reflect the aesthetic of the designer which made Santa Monica an ideal location. We started off on the Third Street Promenade to begin shooting. It’s quite an eclectic place with street musicians, cafes teeming with people, and shoppers getting their fix. It’s a fun place for a shoot as the vibe is always happy and upbeat. I’m wearing a pair of destroyed denim from William B. and Friends, a local LA boutique, that has lots of beachy and affordable designs. The wedge sandals are classic Barbara Bui and were found on sale for a song at Intermix. The white sheer lace blouse from Anthropologie in Santa Monica had a Boho feel to it, and made for the perfect top to compliment the purple Agate custom designed necklace with silver charms and freshwater pearls. It’s an awesome two in one design that’s also available on her website. It’s so pretty and totally makes the outfit! I tossed on a fun beachy seashell belt from Beehive in Manhattan Beach to add to the Boho vibe. My hat is classic Michael Stars, which by now most of you know I’m a huge hat lover and a big fan of this brand. It fits my Boho Style perfectly. The outfit was a wonderful compliment to show off Marissa’s gorgeous lavender Agate and freshwater pearl piece in style. As the wind kicked up, I threw on a cozy sweater vest from Anthropologie that changed up the look a bit.

It was almost time for the glorious sunset at the beach which is right around the corner from the Promenade and dashed over to take advantage of Mother Nature. I threw on my Boho hat by Michael Stars as the wind was whipping around as it tends to by the beach. The sunset was spectacular, creating another ideal moment to photograph the lovely Agate piece. Who can resist a gorgeous sunset? Well, most of you know that I can’t! The lighting during the golden hour is absolute perfection for a shoot.

We decided to shoot the second look back in my hood in Hermosa Beach. Cleobella is a brand that totally embodies the bohemian lifestyle perfectly. This dress fit like a glove with the sassiest fringy detail that absolutely makes the design. It was the perfect backdrop for Marissa’s Wing “Catherine” design. She chose the wing of an Angel to hand stamp my name in silver pewter and added a second custom designed layering necklace with aqua  blue agate and a silver stainless chain. I’ve been lusting after her jewelry for awhile and it was so exciting to open the mail and spy the special pieces she had designed just for me. I chose this dress from Cleobella and Revolve Clothing as it had a beachy Boho vibe, much like the feel of this special necklace. I slipped on the Barbara Bui wedges from Intermix and chose a fun bag from Loeffler Randall. Marissa’s designs were so easy to style, providing the perfect inspiration for the looks.
