“I don’t see why there should be a point where everyone decides you’re too old. I’m not too old, and until I decide I’m too old I’ll never be too fucking old. – Lemmy Kilmister

I don’t know when I’ve ever been more excited to be a Lifestyle/Fashion Blogger. Today, I’m announcing an additional focus for CatherineGraceO.com. This is a natural evolution from a topic I’ve been recently discussing that’s hit a powerful nerve. With the launch of The Fierce 50 Campaign that has now turned into a full fledged “Fierce 50 Revolution,” discussing defying aging and embracing a new concept of “Age Disrupting” has attracted a significant audience and incredible interest.

One year ago, when I launched my blog, it centered around a passion of mine which was mostly fashion. What I’ve found over the course of the past year is that so many people come to me with questions around healthy aging, nutrition, fitness, holistic healing and so much more. Over time, I’ve realized that this blog is for YOU and I’m listening to YOU. After much contemplation, I’m delighted to announce a slightly new direction for the blog while continuing to incorporate my love for beautiful fashion into the mix. I’ve recently decided to proclaim myself as an “Age Disrupter.” It’s a term that’s rarely been used and I’ve only seen it referred to in a book called Disrupt Aging written by the CEO of AARP, Jo Ann Jenkins. While I have immense respect for the author, I feel AARP is an organization that has been caught in a time warp with information and publications that are outdated with an “older vibe” and certainly not representative of the newer, more vibrant energy and vitality found in midlife and beyond. I intend to do extensive research and highlight the most cutting edge techniques, age defying practices, and natural methods to help you turn back the clock on every level and truly experience the vitality available at midlife!

We live in a youth obsessed culture. There’s an emphasis on things such as botox and fillers that are being embraced by those younger than our daughters. Don’t mistake me, I have no issues with fillers and botox. To me it’s a personal preference and something I’m always open to giving a whirl. What concerns me is the message that we are sending to the younger generations that your beauty comes only from applied cosmetics. I’m all about defying aging but it is critical to include embracing the inner beauty and wisdom that comes from reaching midlife and beyond. There’s inherent value that’s internal and cannot be bought and must be earned. After all, our true beauty is the sum total of our experiences, our feelings, our message, and the balance we create in our lives. The truth is that a woman at midlife is more relevant and powerful than ever before and I’ve never been more determined to shift the perception of women at midlife and beyond.

Most of you know that I wear my heart on my sleeve and I firmly believe in bringing down the walls and openly sharing any secrets I’ve discovered to help us age both gracefully and beautifully. Our current culture places significant pressure on older women to do things to “anti age” which in itself has a very negative connotation. I prefer to embrace aging gracefully while searching for natural methods to turn the clock back, empowering older women to look and feel their best! I also believe in sharing this with the younger generations and connecting with them to show them that aging gracefully is not to be feared, but embraced. The younger you start working holistically, the better you will look and feel later in life! Actually, in my experience and that of the almost 2000 women who have joined The Fierce 50 Revolution, we’ve never felt younger, more empowered, or more confident than we do today. We are a collective community that represents both wisdom and youthfulness. We believe that youthfulness isn’t age related, but rather an attitude or mindset. Age is just a number. Period. We intend to send a message to the younger generations that midlife is something to look forward to rather than something to fear.

My series in Age Disrupting will still incorporate fashion to keep you feeling young and beautiful! I will also be combing the ends of the earth (hopefully literally!) to share my latest discoveries to keep you looking and feeling your best. We are going to cover Inner Beauty and Outer Beauty! Topics will include everything from the latest in skincare with cutting edge technology, meditation practices to keep your mind young and clear, high quality nutrition to help with hormone changes and to fuel you with energy, to grounding devices to help you sleep, and specialty makeup lines designed for more mature skin. It will be a virtual feast that will delight your senses and enliven your daily lives!

Be sure to sign up for the newsletter so you don’t miss an issue. We will be turning back the clock together and finding the latest ways to disrupt aging on every level. This series is for YOU and I can’t wait to begin. Make sure to check back next week for my first post on cutting edge nutrition that will have you receiving compliments, having people asking you for your secrets and maybe even getting carded! It still happens to me from time to time and I can’t wait for it to happen to you. Cheers Beauties and thank you for your continued support from the bottom of my heart.

I’m so excited that you are doing this! I’m 57 and definitely want to be an age disrupter. I’m always working at being my best self and trying new things. I can’t wait to hear about all the things that you find. Do you have to be a blogger to join the fierce 50? Can you just be on instagram? Thanks for creating something so awesome that we all are interested in! 💗

The Ageless Rebel community is so happy to join forces with you, we are the age disrupter queens. The ageless rebel is fierce and finds her essence, because without our soul our experiences are just skin deep and our warrioress power goes into fighting the enemies called signs of aging. The real enemies hang out within us, in our mindset. Not that I have anything against beauty enhancements of any kind, I’m vanity incarnated, but being filled by our soul and spirit is so much more fun and fulfilling than being chemically filled. When we own our essence we polish our beauty because we love ourselves not because of fear. It’s so cool that you added this spectrum to your amazing site.
