Laura’s apr 2020 Mystical Reading
Meeting Laura feels like a divinely inspired connection. I met her during a pivotal time in my life and she helped guide me back from the brink of despair due to Late Stage Lyme Disease and deep wounds from trauma. She not only helped to save my life, she helped me find a new life and a new way of being. Laura opened my eyes to many new worlds, including the world of astrology and the North Nodes. My life began to change quickly as I discovered parts of myself I didn’t know existed. Midlife is a powerful time of self discovery and the North Nodes are a glittering North Star to follow to discover who you’re meant to be, versus who have have been told to be, in this lifetime. Working with Laura and learning about my North Node in Leo was like opening a treasure box to discover a world of unknown gifts from my soul. She’s a rare treasure bringing a grounded and centered approach to astrology. I highly recommend a one on one session with Laura, particularly at Midlife!
What is North Node Astrology?
Your North Node reveals what your soul came here to do. By midlife, the soul starts longing and pressing us to live our true purpose. At first, it whispers through intuition. Then it knocks a little louder through “coincidences” and external events. When not heard and honored, the soul’s longing can show up as health crises, marriage or work issues, or wondering “is this all there is?” If you feel a need to reinvent yourself, following North Node guidance helps you do that authentically — for you.
Unlike generic Sun Sign horoscopes, which ignore so many other aspects, following North Node guidance will always lead you in the right direction. Doors open, healing happens, relationships improve, and life gets more magical. This monthly column will help you tap into your personal North Node Mojo. When you start living your North Node purpose, we all win, because you not only begin to light up your own life. You light up the world. – Laura
You can find your North Node sign here which is usually different than your Sun sign. (If you’re right on a cusp, consider both options, or book a reading for more clarity.)
Laura’s April 2020 Midlife North Node Readings
ARIES NORTH NODE: When people disappoint you, ask yourself how you grew from the experience. You’re here to chart your own course. Honor your inner maverick. When you put others on a pedestal, they’ll crash to the floor until you wake up to your own inner guidance. It’s not them; it’s you and your life path. You learn to lead yourself by realizing no one does that better than you. The sooner you accept this lesson, the sooner life can turn disillusion into celebration. Assess what you need to do in order to thrive right now and actually do those things. Don’t expect others to carry you through challenging times: you’ll find enormous self-respect, growth and satisfaction by recognizing your own strength and ingenuity. Yes, you have strength and ingenuity inside yourself. Rams are tough, and they climb great heights on difficult terrain. Beware of anyone or anything who disempowers you. When you feel weak or incapable, you need to rise above those lies and say, “I am enough.” Because you are.
TAURUS NORTH NODE: Trust your body. Mental, emotional and spiritual upgrades take time to integrate on the physical level. Your body will tell you what it needs at this time. Honor these messages above all else. You can move through crisis without resorting to the old trauma-drama. Take things slowly, carefully, and methodically. That’s the Taurus North Node way. Regular exercise or walking meditation will keep you grounded. Each day, take small, tangible steps in the direction you feel led. Once you start moving, inertia becomes your friend. It will take more energy to stop you than it takes to keep moving forward. Because of this fact, taking time to assess your course before you begin leads to faster, better and more complete outcomes. You won’t crash and burn as much, and you’ll get more done. More importantly, you’ll feel better about yourself and your process. Be the rock in your own life, and others will honor your strength, too.
GEMINI NORTH NODE: “Different strokes for different folks.” Practice seeing at least two more perspectives for anything you think you know. The more certain you feel about something, the more important this practice becomes. Gemini North Node natives need to make room for a wider multiverse of alternate realities. It feels scary, but when you throw away the map, your life path reveals itself. This path might wind, and rise or fall in altitude. No worries: that just keeps things interesting. You thrive by adaptation, so the more change and uncertainty life throws at you, the more empowered you become. Instead of spinning out of control, you can dance like a whirling Dervish, summoning and creating better options. Indulge your curiosity, but let go of the need to know. Each question offers many answers, all travelers have value, and detours lead to unexpected treasure. “Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves.”
CANCER NORTH NODE: If you’ve got unexpected time at home, use it to finish those nagging house projects you always push aside for something “more important.” Hunker down inside your home, or at least inside yourself, creating a soft, nurturing space for others who feel less secure. Resist the urge to get bossy, defensive, or self-righteous. Yes, these are stressful times, but you’ll accomplish so much more with gentle words and a softer touch. Everyone’s doing the best they can with what they know right now. When you feel frustrated, ask for a more compassionate perspective: “What does this person really need right now?” This is not a rhetorical question: do not assume you know the answer. As a matter of course, always ask. You can do this through prayer or direct conversation. Your relationships will deepen and heal as you get real with yourself and others. A little vulnerability goes a long way. Take the emotional risk. You’ll be glad you did.
LEO NORTH NODE: Resist the urge to save the world at your own expense. The oxygen mask principle applies to Leo North Node natives: put yours on before helping others. It feels unnatural to prioritize your own needs with so many others facing challenges, but you’ll serve the world in bigger ways if you stay healthy, strong and vibrant. Indulge your playful, humorous side, and when in doubt, follow your heart. Analysis paralysis and too much detachment undermine your natural glory. Do whatever it takes to drop into your heart so that you make better, more authentic decisions for yourself and those you love. Your heart doesn’t lie. When you listen to the voice of love, it guides you where and how you need to go. That usually means more of a leadership role than you’d like to own, but go with it. The world needs you right now. Write a book, make a video — do something creative and let yourself shine like a lighthouse for boats on stormy seas.
VIRGO NORTH NODE: Now is not the time to indulge in alcohol, drugs, or escapist tendencies. Get out of your pajamas, make the bed, and continue — or create new — daily routines. Everyday actions ground you in your body and reduce the chance of overwhelm. When you focus on details, you do well. Savor a cup of herbal tea or medicinal mushrooms as you write your to-do list. If it crosses your mind, write it down! One by one, it all gets done, and you can face the fear with inspired strategy. You know how to tap into the bigger picture: bring that skill down to earth with concrete steps towards harmony and healing. When others turn to you for health advice, share what you know. You have natural healing gifts and a heart for service. Virgo North Nodes thrive on hard work. You’re so tapped into the numinous that you can sustain your poise and energy under circumstances that would crush other signs. All it takes is focus and a little discipline. You’ve got this!
LIBRA NORTH NODE: “We’re all in this together” applies especially to you. Take this refrain to heart and then open your heart wide to inspire others. You have courage to spare. When you share that courage with others, you feel more focused and connected. You’ll find your purpose by helping others find theirs. Because not everyone handles crises as well as you do, you can make a huge difference as co-leader of the pack rather than a lone wolf. Resist the temptation to isolate. Even in a time of “social distancing,” your supportive words carry more weight than you can imagine. You’ll have more fun if you partner with others, whether in person or through virtual means. As the Hopi say, “This could be a good time.” When you help those around you find their strength, you embody the prophecy, “We are the ones we have been waiting for.”
SCORPIO NORTH NODE: You were made for times like these. Your natural capacity for Shadow Work helps you find diamonds in the coal, seedlings in the rotting compost. Like the mythical phoenix, Scorpio North Node natives can walk into the fire and birth themselves anew. From death and decay comes life. Every ending brings a new beginning. Ask yourself what behaviors, attitudes or shame stand in the way of true intimacy and unbridled life. Then let them go. A fire ceremony or mini-funeral might help. Honor all the nooks and crannies of your soul. What things has life removed that needed to go anyway? Accept and allow the grief, but ask to recognize and receive new life. Regeneration is available. You more than any other sign tap into cycles of death and rebirth. As the world undergoes a forced purge, you assist the larger whole by tending to your inner world. As within, so without. Release the old to free the New.
SAGITTARIUS NORTH NODE: Your soul’s urge for adventure might feel penned in by travel restrictions and “social distancing.” Let your mind and spirit soar as you take this time for deeper learning. Pick one topic, and roam far and wide within its scope. Philosophy, religious studies —even fantasy novels— provide spiritual sustenance and food for thought. It’s a great time to read or re-read “Lord of the Rings” or “The Chronicles of Narnia.” If you’ve read these before, see how much you’ve grown by returning with more maturity. New does not always mean better. Some things improve as you persist. Continue to trust your intuition in all matters — especially health. You know what feels right for you. Follow that inner guidance, even if you can’t explain it. When people look to you as a mentor, accept that role with grace. You’re a natural teacher: share your what you know.
CAPRICORN NORTH NODE: You need a spiritual practice right now. It doesn’t matter what you choose, but you need to engage some kind of spiritual discipline. You cannot afford to wallow in collective energies of shock, grief, anger and fear. Having a regular practice of tuning into a Higher Power keeps you sane and able to lead others in times of crisis. Whether you practice sacred chants, draw mandalas, or hit the yoga mat, you must structure a spiritual lifeline into daily life. If you do this, you’ll weather the storm just fine. Look for opportunities in financial and organizational areas. Can you refinance under historic low rates? Purchase stocks whose values just tanked? Reorganize your closet? Use these times and chaotic energies to implement more order and design in some area that feels out of control.
AQUARIUS NORTH NODE: Lend a kind ear and encouraging word to someone who feels scared or discouraged. Find a way to help someone in need. Can you bring groceries to an elderly neighbor or disabled friend? Write an inspiring blog post? Innovate new and improved ways of conducting business? Aquarius rules the internet, and with Mars and Saturn soon moving into Aquarius, watch for extra bursts of energy, along with ideas for new structures and traditions. You of all North Node natives thrive on change and chaos. Your dance carves new pathways for the rest of the world to discover. You’ll make best use of this energy if you keep the Highest Good of All in mind. Don’t just claim your own blessings. If you embrace win-win opportunities, you’ll win much bigger than you would with self-interest or personal motivation.
PISCES NORTH NODE: Collective currents are pushing an inward turn. “Social distance,” yet “we’re all in this together”: this situation seems tailor made to activate the Pisces North Node native. It’s a powerful time for prayer and meditation — even more powerful than usual. Never doubt that your prayers and meditation affect the world inside and around you. When you tend to your inner world, you radiate blessings, calm and healing to the collective. You’ll also find your own anxiety drops when you take quiet time for yourself. You need it, and the world needs you to take this time. Care for what you can, then release the rest to a Higher Power: “God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference.” Follow the “still, small voice.” It will guide you well.
